Children’s, Youth, and Young Adult Ministry

Our Children, Youth, and Young Adult Ministries are Transitional and Christ Centered.  What do we mean by Transitional? This simply means that our Bible study and student activities are designed not only to communicate with each group where they presently are, but also to prepare them for their next transition on their spiritual journey.  This allows each group to give back in sacrifice and service to the group or groups transitioning after them.  I Thessalonians 5:11 (NIV) states, “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as in fact you are doing.

Our Children’s Church Program is for our youth ages 4 to 12 years of age.  Our program is divided into age specific classes and the classes are taught on a weekly basis during our morning worship.   Currently, our classes are Pre-K to 1st Grade, 2nd Grade to 4th Grade and Preteens ages 10 to 12 years of age.   Our Children’s Church Program is filled with great music presented by some of our teen and young adult musicians coupled with great teaching by our numerous adult and young adult volunteers.

Clean Hands Pure Hearts (CHPH)
This is our Teen Ministry for our youth ages 13 to 17 years of age.  Our CHPH members meet weekly during morning Worship. Through engaging Bible studies and a relaxed atmosphere, our purpose is to make Jesus relevant to our teens, that they may grow to trust the Holy Spirit to guide their every decision.  Too often we try to make Jesus popular through cultural issues, a culture that is severely tainted and desensitized by the distractions surrounding it.  It’s the belief of this Ministry that if we make Jesus relevant to the culture then, in that, thoughts, decisions and behaviors will change.   Using various formats, we ensure we are pointing our teens to Christ in everything they do.

Through events such as our weekly Sunday Bible discussion and group prayer time, outings, retreats, bi-monthly Dinner and Conversation events (where we engage in a single topic discussion off campus with great fellowship and great food), as well as gender base discussion with our mentoring programs, we remind them of God’s amazing Grace and the Awesome gift of Salvation that is offered. These events are designed to teach them the importance of our Great commission to evangelize and make disciples.

S.A.L.T., our Young Adult Ministry for ages 18 to 25, is designed to be a ministry of Truth, Transparency, Grace, and Love and centers on monthly Bible fellowships called Young Adult Dinner and Conversation.

This time in a young adult’s life can often be an age of great discovery and independence. Often, however, this period can bring about a slow fade or disconnect from ministry, the church, and Jesus Christ. The purpose of S.A.L.T. is to ensure the journey of this target group will include a continuous connection to Jesus Christ. We continue to teach and remind our young adults, through various forms of communications, the importance of staying connected.

How do we do this? For those who choose to continue their education, upon graduation from high school we connect with their college campus ministries, with churches in the campus’ local area, as well as with Christian families who will continue to guide our young adults in order to find sources for Christian support.  Doing these things will hold them accountable, will keep them connected, as well as allow for sustained communication with their home church.

We continue to develop and offer leadership roles for our young adults.  These roles are designed to place them in positions to pour into the students coming after them through various capacities and often in methods that cater to their greatest strengths.

We do not water down the Gospel. We teach that Jesus Christ is the resurrected Son of God (God in the Flesh), that His Grace is a Gift, and that Gift offers you Salvation and Truth.  Also taught is that Love of such a sacrifice and acceptance of such a blessing should bring about repentance from our sin and that it is the Great Commission that we go into the world to evangelize and make disciples.

Our Young Adult Dinner and Conversations are extremely impactful. As we engage in fellowship and in truly dissecting God’s Word our Young Adults may better understand the nature of God and how important and intentional their daily walk with Jesus Christ must be. They are reminded about the power of the Holy Spirit and encouraged to surrender their hearts to His wisdom, that they may better choices in life.

VBS (Vacation Bible School)
What’s so special about VBS?  VBS is a very exciting time at Redemption Fellowship Church. Each year, for one week during the summer, we have our Vacation Bible School format. Our VBS program takes place in the evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. each night and includes a class for every age group, from 2 years old to the adults. We engage our teens and young adults in age specific classes as well. Each year all groups learn the same topic. We believe this opens up great family dialogue about the Bible and Jesus Christ, with the hopes that regular family Bible studies are increased at home. Great time and effort is taken to transform our facility and much thought and consideration is put into setting up each class in order to engage every aspect of our students senses to ensure they have an amazing time. VBS at Redemption Fellowship Church is open to the entire community.

Redemption Fellowship Youth Choir (ages 13 to 19)
Our Youth Choir is Phenomenal and Amazingly Christ Centered. The Youth Choir rehearses each Tuesday at 7 p.m. and sings every 4th Sunday. The quality of the service is never compromised because of the Grace of God and we strive to make sure there is a Biblical understanding and spiritual maturity with each song our young people sing.

Though we may choose songs with great musicality, our music presentation is extremely eclectic and diverse which opens our young people up to a greater level and understanding of music of praise. It is never to just entertain. Routinely our Youth Choir receives requests to sing at various events throughout the county.
