RFC United in Prayer – Praying for the Lonely

Posted on Apr 08 , 2020 in Happenings & Prayer

Dear Redemption Family,

Today let’s pray for those who are always shut-in, perhaps in nursing homes and all those completely separated from loved ones, especially at Easter.  God is aware of and near the lonely and hurting:   “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18

Let’s pray,  Dear Lord we ask You to reveal Yourself powerfully to the broken hearted and lonely today. We ask that those who are crushed in spirit now would call out to You and find Your loving Presence with them. Show us who we can reach out to right away because they are feeling so cut off from loved ones!  We ask these things with confidence in the Name of Jesus.  Amen!”

We are looking forward to our ZOOM Bible Study and prayer time tonight at 6:45 p.m.  Please let us know who is heavy upon your heart and how we can come alongside you and your family in prayer.

The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. James 5:16b  (NLT)

ATTN:  ALL Men

Please make plans to take part in the next session of our Men’s Bible Fellowship, which is scheduled to take place THIS Saturday, April 11th starting @ 9:00 a.m. via ZOOM.

As you are aware by now, we are unable to meet at the church for our monthly meeting.  We will continue to follow the guidelines set forth and pray that doing so will stop the spread of COVID-19.   Although we can’t meet at the church, we have other ways to stay connected and to continue praying and studying together.

A zoom video conference has been scheduled for this Saturday, April 11th at 9:00 am.  Participants will be able to see each other, catch up, pray, study the Word of God, and encourage each other.  Our lives have changed drastically in the past few weeks and more than ever, we need each other.

You will need to download the zoom app on your device or you can call in.  If you have any questions about zoom or need the login information, please call Elder Jamie Shelton.

Please study up on Philippians 4 and grab a cup of coffee, tea, muffin, your Bible, and join in Saturday morning.

RFC United in Prayer – Help for the Hurting!

Posted on Apr 07 , 2020 in Happenings & Prayer

Dear Redemption Family,

Today let’s pray for those without jobs. Companies that are cutting back. Small business. And ourselves.  God is Sovereign and God is Good. David prays like this:

“But you, Sovereign Lord, help me for your name’s sake; out of the goodness of your love, deliver me.  For I am poor and needy,  and my heart is wounded within me…With my mouth I will greatly extol the Lord; in the great throng of worshipers I will praise him.  For he stands at the right hand of the needy, to save their lives from those who would condemn them.” from Psalm 109: 21-22,30-31

Let’s pray,  “Sovereign LORD, help all those who have lost jobs, those who have to keep laying off or face loosing their small business  for Your name’s sake; out of the goodness of Your love, deliver everyone of them and each of us.  May they and we look to You, a Good Father and Lord, and experience Your coming alongside at our right hand for help and for salvation! We ask this in Jesus’s mighty Name.  Amen.”

Hang on everyone, to our Good and Sovereign Lord and to each other.  Please let us know who is heavy upon your heart and how we can come alongside you and your family in prayer.

RFC United in Prayer – Holy Week

Posted on Apr 06 , 2020 in Happenings & Prayer

Dear Redemption Family,

Let’s stay united in any new and appropriate ways! Certainly let’s stay united in spirit, in truth and in prayer. This is Holy Week which culminates in Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday!  Today let’s pray again for all the Front Line people in healthcare, any first responders, retail, truckers, postal and essential business workers:

“May their hearts and souls look up and hear the Lord Jesus say, “In this world you will have trouble, But take heart I have overcome the world!” (John 16:33)

Father in Heaven we ask you to visit them mightily everyday with your new mercies, your strength and hope. May they feel your arms underneath them.   Send love, assistance and divine protection in abundance to each one and to their families. We commit them to your perfect care and deliverance in Jesus’s name. Amen!”

Please let us know who is heavy upon your heart and how we can come alongside you and your family in prayer.

RFC United in Prayer – Palm Sunday

Posted on Apr 05 , 2020 in Happenings & Prayer

Dear Redemption Family,

Pastor’s sermon today was truly a very prophetic word! The Palm Sunday sermon, “Time to Clean House”  was taken from Mark 11:11 and 15-19
The main points:

* Jesus meticulously observes what is going on in the temple. Jesus powerfully disrupts what is going on in the temple. Jesus will faithfully restore us – He restores us through His word in His faithfulness!
* Jesus will disrupt our plans in order to make things right! For His glory and our good. So, let’s pray in line with Jesus’s desire…. let’s grow deeper in our faith, be refined as a church and become a House of Prayer with the powerful help of the Holy Spirit

“Father in Heaven, help us to have deeper faith in You. Cleanse our hearts of any bitterness and unforgiveness towards others. Train us to pray continually, believing that what we ask in accordance with Your will is being answered! Build us into Your dwelling place, Your house of prayer, in whom You live by Your Spirit. We ask this in the Name of the Son of God, Jesus Christ. Amen!”

So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone,  in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord.  In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.     Ephesians 2:19-22

RFC United in Prayer for Each Other

Posted on Apr 03 , 2020 in Happenings & Prayer

Dear Redemption Family,

In light of the Coronavirus crisis, let’s pray more than we ever have before! Our desire is that our unity and growth in Christ will continue unhindered.  Becoming a prayer saturated church is a stated strategic goal of our church.  Let’s pray scripturally and specifically today for these two leaders as well as others:

Pastor Causey – “Lord God, by Your Spirit, we ask that You make Pastor Causey worthy of his calling and may You fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by Your power, so the Name of of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in him and that Pastor will be glorified in You, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ!”    (2 Thes. 1:11-12)  ”And may You grant Pastor divine wisdom, patience and courage to lead RFC in the power of the Holy Spirit everyday, especially in these unprecedented days. We ask You to protect Pastor and Donna and all their family. May they grow close to each other and close to You as a family like never before. We ask these things for our Pastor with gratitude and confidence, all for Your glory, in Jesus’s Name. Amen!”

Elder Frank Brown, (ER Dr for Cancer Centers of America) – “Lord God, by Your Spirit, we ask that You make Elder, Dr. Frank worthy of his calling and may You fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by Your power, so the Name of of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in him and that Elder Frank will be glorified in You, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ!”    (2 Thes. 1:11-12)

“And may our brother Frank have Your great shield of protection around him as he serves the sick and those who are weak in immunity capability. May brother Frank have the deep peace and perseverance of Christ Jesus everyday. May he be a beacon of hope and encouragement everyday to his co-workers and those they serve. Protect and bless brother Frank’s family as well and may they too know your Presence and powerful provision for them everyday. We ask these things with gratitude and confidence in Your sovereign grace and for Your glory Lord, in Jesus’s Name. Amen!”

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. Psalm 91:1-2  (NLT)

RFC United in Prayer – Peace

Posted on Apr 02 , 2020 in Happenings & Prayer

Dear Redemption Family,

In light of the Coronavirus crisis, let’s pray more than we ever have before! Our desire is that our unity and growth in Christ will continue unhindered. We trust that God is answering our prayers for help in becoming a loving, mature Great Commission Church that is excelling in worship, witness and prayer.

Peace is a gift from our Lord Jesus Christ. Here are some wonderful words from Scripture to stir us to praise and to prayer for ourselves, our families, neighbors and community:

Jesus said,  “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”  John 14:27

Apostle Paul said,  “Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.”   1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

Apostle Paul said,  “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.”  2 Thessalonians 3:16

Apostle Paul said, “… do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 4:6-7

Grace and Peace today for all of us from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!

RFC United in Prayer -Day #10

Posted on Mar 31 , 2020 in Happenings & Prayer

Dear RFC Family,

Let’s keep praying together in unity as the church scattered and take or create opportunities to pray over the phone, text message, etc.
#PRAY to end COVID-19 prayer points – For today:

10) Pray for all those who live without any knowledge of Jesus to hear about him through this crisis and respond to his love. We pray salvation for every man, woman and child in the world today. Through eyes of faith, we see them becoming our brothers and sisters in Christ. Ask in Jesus’ name for the gift of salvation for many to come out of this crisis.

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise, as some understand slowness but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance. – 2 Peter 3:9

RFC United in Prayer -Day #9

Posted on Mar 30 , 2020 in Happenings & Prayer

Dear RFC Family,

Let’s keep praying together in unity as the church scattered and take or create opportunities to pray over the phone, text message, etc.

#PRAY to end COVID-19 prayer points – For today:
9) Pray for missionaries worldwide today, especially those serving in areas acutely impacted by COVID-19. Pray for wisdom for each ministry team to know how to carry out their responsibilities. We pray that ministries would not have to shut down, but that the Lord would carry them through this difficult time, for his glory.

Pray for Lauren Stovall in Odessa, Ukraine. Pray for her MTW team and ministry leaders as well as for those whom God has sovereignly put in their spheres. More specific requests from Lauren will come soon.

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. – 2 Corinthians 4:8-10
