Food Collection for October 2017

Posted on Oct 03 , 2017 in Announcements

ATTN:  Redemption Fellowship Family

Our effort to help feed the hungry is on-going. The need is definitely there as one in five people in the state of Georgia struggles with hunger – many of them are children.

The Fayette Samaritans is a Christian ministry serving those in need by providing food, clothing, and financial assistance. Please continue to help in our effort to collect donations for the Samaritans Food Bank to feed the hungry by placing one or more non perishable items in the donation box each week.  All donations are gathered on the fourth Sunday of each month and are delivered soon afterwards to the Samaritans.

Collection of the donations for the month of October will take place Sunday, October 22, 2017.  If you and your family are able, please bring a donation for the Food Bank with you to service this Sunday.

While all items are appreciated, the Samaritans have asked if we could help especially with the staple items listed below:

Canned tuna
Peanut Butter
Rice
Dried Beans
Cornbread Mix
Canned fruit/vegetables
Applesauce
Pasta sauce
Toiletries
Feminine Products

They also made an appeal for clothing donations.  At this time there is a special need for boys clothing:  shirts, underwear, socks, etc (all sizes).  Many thanks for all of the donations that have been made thus far.  All items donated are delivered and recorded as coming from Redemption Fellowship Church.

If you have any questions about the Food Bank donations, please contact Sister Chantal Bartley or Sister Dolores Bennett.

Thank you and may God richly bless you.

Blessing Point Ministries Retreat – October 27th

Posted on Oct 03 , 2017 in Announcements

Attention Redemption Family

Blessing Point Ministries will be facilitating a process for each of us in Redemption Fellowship aimed at healing the heart of our church.  Ephesians 4:15-16 explains that our church body will become all that God wants it to be when each of us functions as God intended us to function in this family of God.  Paul states that this is accomplished when “speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is Head, that is Christ.”  Central to our healing is reconciliation to God and to each other.  When the church’s heart is healed, all the energy focused on dealing with and defending our wounds becomes available for ministry again.  We still will sin and make mistakes after the process is over, but the good news is that God will use our training and our hardships to accomplish His purposes in our lives and in our church.

For the retreat phase of this process, we will meet at the Covenant House at Covenant Presbyterian Church here in Fayetteville on Friday, October 27th from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm and on Saturday, October 28th from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.  The retreat concludes with a Reconciliation Worship Service on Sunday, October 29th at 11:00 am at Redemption Fellowship Church.

Corporate Prayer – October 31st

Attention Redemption Fellowship Family:

The next session of Corporate Prayer will take place on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the church from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Everyone is asked to please come and join us in corporate prayer.  In order for the vision of Redemption Fellowship to grow, it must be spirit-led.  This is achieved through united corporate prayer.

The word of God instructs us in Luke 18:1, “… that men ought always pray and not faint”.  Also, the Bible states in Philippians 4:6-7, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God; And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Playground Project

Attention Men of Redemption

We need your help!!!  On Saturday, November 4th at 8:30 a.m., the Deacons are meeting at the church to breakdown the children’s playground.  It has become a safety hazard, so it has become necessary to tear it down.

We need helping hands and willing hearts to help in the demolition process.  Deacon Chaney has most of the necessary tools.  We will need a ratchet set so if you have one and plan to come out please bring it.  Additionally, if time allots, the Deacons would also like to clean out the shed in the back of the church.  The goal is to have as much work completed as possible by noon. If you are available that Saturday morning, please consider coming out to help.

For questions, please contact Deacon Warren Chisholm or Deacon Willie Maddox.

Corporate Prayer – November 7th

Posted on Oct 02 , 2017 in Announcements

Dear Redemption Family

We invite as many as can come  to join together Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 7 p.m. for an hour of being together in the Lord’s presence!  We will meet in the Fellowship Hall from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. for Corporate Prayer.

Please feel free to contact us with any special testimonies of answers to prayers and /or requests if you can not attend!

Corporate Prayer is a time for praying for your needs as well as for the needs of others.  There are many ways to love one’s neighbor, but prayer is one of the most powerful.  The Lord instructed us to pray not only for our own personal needs but to reach out and pray for others as well. Jesus promised: “If two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven” (Matthew 18:10). One of the most powerful ways we can pray is together with others.

During times of Corporate Prayer, prayers of intercession can be offered on behalf of your friends, family, co-workers, and so on  - for their needs, concerns, health problems, etc.
